Shoujo Jidai at the 62nd Kōhaku Uta Gassen

As previously reported, the ladies of Shoujo Jidai/ Girl’s Generation were invited to perform at Japan’s prestigious New Year’s Eve music festival, the ‘Kōhaku Uta Gassen‘. The event took place last night/year , where Shoujo jidai performed their Japanese debut single, GENIE.

Girl's Ganeretion (SNSD) - Genie (tell me your wish)

With ‘Kōhaku Uta Gassen’ literally meaning ‘Red and White Song battle‘, the format of the show obviously followed the format of a ‘Red Team VS White Team’ battle. Ladies were Red (akagumi), Gents were White (shirogumi) …. and the winner of the 62nd Kōhaku Uta Gassen was… *drumroll* THE RED TEAM! This was the first win for the Red team in 6 years… I’m sure Tiffany’s “Akagumi… Put it back on!!” helped.

2011 MBC Music Festival

Following on from SBS and KBS, the last of the 3 major end year Music Shows, the MBC Music Festival, aired on New Year’s Eve, drawing a close to 2011. As SNSD were in Japan attending the Kōhaku Uta Gassen, their participation in the Music Festival was via pre-recorded performances of ‘Diamond‘ from SMTown’s 2011 Winter Album, ‘The Warmest Gift’ and ‘The Boys‘

2011 KBS Music Festival

Following on from the SBS Gayo Daejun, the 2011 KBS Music Festival was held last night and also featured many artists including SNSD. The girls performed ‘Festival‘ by Uhm Jung Hwa as well as ‘The Boys‘ with a special dance intro. Check out the performances under the cut~
